IP_ADDRESS_FAMILY option for NetBackup servers

The IP_ADDRESS_FAMILY option indicates whether NetBackup on this host supports only IPv4 or both IPv4 and IPv6.

If any of the SERVER entries do not support IPv4, NetBackup uses the setting that indicates both IPv4 and IPv6.

Table: IP_ADDRESS_FAMILY information

Usage

Description

Where to use

On NetBackup servers or clients.

How to use

On the hosts that use both IPv4 and IPv6, use this option to indicate which address family to use.

Use the nbgetconfig and the nbsetconfig commands to view, add, or change the option.

For information about these commands, see the NetBackup Commands Reference Guide.

Use the following format:

IP_ADDRESS_FAMILY = AF_INET | AF_UNSPEC

AF_INET indicates that the host supports only IPv4.

AF_UNSPEC indicates that the host supports both IPv4 and IPv6.

This entry should appear only once in the configuration file.

Equivalent Administration Console property
