bpbackupdb — initiate a hot catalog backup

SYNOPSIS

bpbackupdb -p policy_name -s sched_label

On UNIX systems, the directory path to this command is /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/

On Windows systems, the directory path to this command is install_path\NetBackup\bin\admincmd\

DESCRIPTION

bpbackupdb initiates a hot catalog backup using the specified policy and schedule.

See the "About specifying the locale of the NetBackup installation" topic in the NetBackup Administrator's Guide, Volume II.

See the NetBackup Administrator's Guide, Volume II for more information on how to back up NetBackup catalogs. The NetBackup utility bprecover recovers the catalogs that bpbackupdb has backed up.

See the NetBackup Troubleshooting Guide for more information on how to restore the NetBackup catalogs if a disaster recovery is required.

OPTIONS

-p policy_name -s sched_label

The -p and -s options launch a policy-based, hot catalog backup.
