Checking MSDP data integrity manually
When you recover the MSDP catalog from a backup, you must check the integrity of the MSDP data. The data integrity process also resolves any data integrity issues.
To check MSDP data integrity
- Run the following command to check the integrity of the MSDP data:
UNIX:/usr/openv/pdde/pdcr/bin/pddecfg - a startdatafullcheck
Windows: install_path\Veritas\pdde\pddecfg - a startdatafullcheck
- When the following command lists Busy as No, the data integrity check has been completed.
UNIX:/usr/openv/pdde/pdcr/bin/pddecfg -a getdataintegritycheck
Windows:install_path\Veritas\pdde\pddecfg -a getdataintegritycheck
- Open the data integrity check log file in a text editor.
UNIX:/storage_path/log/spad/OnlineCheck.log
Windows:storage_path\log\spad\OnlineCheck.log
- Examine the log file for a message similar to the following that corresponds to the date and time that you invoked the command in step 1:
Finished sending Data Check POs for data selection[2], cursor=
If the line exists, continue to the next step.
- Run the following command to check if any data container corruption issues exist:
UNIX:/usr/openv/netbackup/bin/admincmd/bperror -disk
Windows:install_path/Veritas\NetBackup\bin\admincmd\bperror -disk
