Submit a request for role elevation
Review the following prerequisites to use the role elevation option:
Role elevation mapping is defined for a user role.
User has NetBackup web UI access.
MPA Approver is available to approve role elevation requests.
To use elevated roles
- Log in to the NetBackup web UI.
- Click Profile > Profile settings.
- Select the Role elevation tab.
In the Role elevation configurations pane, specify the following information:
Duration for which role elevation should be enabled, in the Valid for field.
Select the time unit (for example, Days).
Note:
The duration of role elevation starts after the MPA ticket is approved.
- Provide a reason for the role elevation. This is optional information.
- In the Select roles to add table, do the following:
Use the search bar to find roles if needed.
Select the roles to which you want to be elevated, from the list.
- Click Save to submit the role elevation request. This generates an MPA ticket.
After the role elevation MPA ticket is approved, you need to sign in again to perform the required operations with the elevated role.
