Configuration options for backup jobs

The following table describes the values you should set for various job-related settings.

Table: Settings that control the number of jobs and how jobs run

Setting

Value

number_of_streams

This setting is available in the nbgpbackup_config.yaml file. It controls how many NetBackup jobs are created per segment host.

Set the value as a multiple of the number of segments on the segment hosts. Minimum should be n * number of segments per host.

Maximum concurrent jobs per client (Primary server, Global attributes)

Set to a value that is equal to or greater than the number_of_streams.

Maximum concurrent jobs (storage unit)

(number_of_streams * number of segment hosts) + 1 (for the coordinator host)
