Backing up SAP HANA instances and databases using web UI
Use the NetBackup web UI to back up SAP HANA instances and databases.
To discover SAP HANA instances
- In the NetBackup web UI, on the left, select SAP.
- In the Instances tab, click Discover instances.
- On the Discover instances page, select the required client and click Discover.
- Refresh the Instances tab to see the new instances that are added for the selected client.
- Select the instance and click Manage credentials.
- On the Manage credentials page, click Add credentials. Enter the following information:
Credential name - Name for the credential, for example: SAP credential
Tag - Tag for the credential
Description - Information on credential
Credentials for SAP database - SAP user name and SAP user password
- Click Next. The credentials are validated.
- Click Close.
- In the Databases tab, click Discover databases.
- On the Discover databases page, select the required databases > Hosts and Instances, and click Discover.
- Refresh the Databases tab to see the new databases that are added.
- On the left, select Protection > Policies and click Add.
- On the Create policy page, on the Attributes tab, specify the policy information.
- Select SAP as the policy type.
Instead of the Clients tab, the Protect databases tab is displayed.
The Backup selections tab is disabled and a new tab called SAP is displayed.
- In the Schedules tab, specify the details of the backup schedule for the SAP data backup.
- In the Protect databases tab, click the Protect databases option and click Add.
- On the Select database page, select the databases that you want to protect and click Select.
- Click Save.
- Select the SAP policy that you have created and click Manual backup.
- On the Manual backup page, select the required schedule and the client, and click Backup.
- On the left, select Activity monitor to see the SAP backup job details.
