NetBackup™ Web UI Administrator's Guide

Define role elevation mappings

You can define mappings of a base role with the roles to which it needs to be elevated.

After role elevation mappings are defined for a base role, any users assigned to that base role can request elevation to one or more mapped roles.

You can define mappings of a base role with the roles to which it can be elevated.

When role elevation for the associated users is successful, the users can perform the required operations using the elevated roles.

Note:

Role elevation mappings cannot be defined for the Administrator role.

To create role elevation mapping

  1. Log in to the NetBackup web UI and click RBAC in the left pane. You can view the available roles.
    • If you select an existing role, do the following:

Click the Role elevation mappings tab.

You can view the currently assigned elevated roles, add new roles, or delete existing roles.

    • If you create a custom role, do the following:

      • Click Add and select Custom Role.

      • Click Next to go to the Role elevation mappings card.

      • Click Assign.

A list of available roles is displayed. Select the roles to which the base role of the associated users needs to be elevated.

        Click Assign.
