NetBackup™ Web UI Administrator's Guide

Edit attributes for multiple policies at the same time

You can edit the policy attributes for one or more policies at the same time. These policies need not be of the same policy type, though the changes you can make to different policy types are limited.

Note the following behavior when you edit multiple policies:

  • For policies of a different type, any settings that do not apply to both types of policies are hidden and are not available for you to edit or select.

  • NetBackup indicates if different selections are made for different policies:

    • A mixed state is displayed. For example, if the Allow multiple data streams option is selected for one policy but not for a second policy.

    • The message "Multiple values" or value <Multiple values> is displayed. For example, if different options are selected for Client-side deduplication.

  • If you choose to enable, disable, add, or change a setting, that new setting is applied to all of the selected policies.

  • If a setting depends on another setting that is not selected, a banner displays and more details are available about the changes that are required. For example, consider if you try to save multiple policies and one policy requires that the Use Accelerator setting is enabled. When you try to save the policies, the View details modal indicates the changes that you need to make before you save the policies.

To edit the attributes for multiple policies

  1. On the left, select Protection > Policies.
  2. Select the Policies tab.
  3. Select each policy that you want to change and select Edit attributes.
  4. Make the changes that you want, then select Save.
