Replicate copy of backup image to target NetBackup domain

The replicate feature allows to manually create a copy of a specified backup based on the configuration on the supported replication targets of the storage server.

Prerequisite

Ensure the following conditions are satisfied before performing replication.

  • Auto Image Replication (A.I.R.) setup is required.

  • Any image backup on MSDP PureDisk or OST storage is applicable for the replicate operation.

  • A Storage lifecycle policy on target NetBackup primary server. See Storage lifecycle policies (SLP) for Replication.

To replicate backup image

  1. Open NetBackup Web UI.
  2. On the left, click Catalog.
  3. From the Action list, select Replicate.
  4. From the Disk type drop down, select PureDisk.

    Note:

    NetBackup supports MSDP and OST storage types.

  5. Select the search criteria to find the image you want to replicate. Click Search.

    The search displays the list of backup images which are eligible for replication. Multiple images belonging to same media can be selected.

  6. Select the required backup image and then click Replicate.

    Replicate backup images dialog box is displayed.

  7. Select Target primary server, Target storage server, and Target SLP and then click Replicate.
  8. Click Activity tab to view the job results with job type as Replication.
