About the data collector
The data collector collects metadata from NetBackup and sends information such as policies, jobs, image records to Alta View or IT Analytics. Based on the information that the data collector has sent, these applications monitor, manage, and report on NetBackup domains.

To receive data from the data collector, you need to register Alta View or IT Analytics with the data collector. (Where available, you can register Cohesity Helios with the data collector.)
Note:
Either Alta View or IT Analytics can be registered with a single data collector at a time.
