Considerations for using Accelerator with OCI
Consider the following when using Accelerator with OCI backups.
If a policy or protection plan do not have accelerator enabled at the time of creation, you cannot enable accelerator for policy and protection plan by editing that policy. Similarly, if you upgrade NetBackup from an older version that did not support Accelerator, you cannot enable Accelerator for the policies or protection plans created in the older version. In both the cases, you must create a new policy to use Accelerator.
If you disable Accelerator for a policy using the
bp.conffile, you cannot enable Accelerator for that policy again. You must create a new policy.Accelerator backups are disabled if the volumes are resized between backups. NetBackup runs a full backup.
OCI volumes of
Lower Cost performance level (0 VPUs/GB)type are not supported for Accelerator backups. For Accelerator backups, there must be no full snapshots between two consecutive snapshots. The first snapshot can be a full snapshot or an incremental snapshot. The second (current) snapshot must be an incremental snapshot. If both snapshots are incremental, no full snapshot must occur between the two incremental backups.
