NetBackup™ Web UI Cloud Administrator's Guide

Restoring to a different cloud provider

NetBackup 10.5 or later, lets you restore protected cloud VMs in one cloud provider to another cloud provider, from the backup from snapshot copy. For example, AWS to Azure and vice versa.

To restore across providers, at least one media server must be 10.5 or higher. This media server must have access the STU where the backed-up image resides.

Follow these steps to restore VMs across different providers:

You need to perform the following steps to restore to a different cloud provider.

  • Prepare the VMs that you want to back up.

  • Perform back up of the VMs.

  • Restore to the desired cloud provider.

  • Perform the post-restore configurations.

For a detailed description of each of these steps, refer to the following section:

See Restore to a different cloud provider.
