Configuring an OpenStorage storage unit
Create one or more storage units that reference each disk pool that you configure.
A storage unit inherits the properties of the disk pool. If the storage unit inherits replication properties, the properties signal to a NetBackup storage lifecycle policy the intended purpose of the storage unit and the disk pool. Auto Image Replication requires storage lifecycle policies. Replication properties may not exist or be exposed to NetBackup by the vendor plug-in.

To configure an OpenStorage storage unit
- In the NetBackup web UI, on the left, select Storage > Storage units, and then select Add.
- Select OpenStorage Technology (OST), and then select Start.
- On the Basic properties page, enter a unique storage unit name, and then configure the following properties as required:
Maximum concurrent jobs
Maximum fragment size
- Select Next.
- On the Disk pool page, select the disk pool to associate with the storage unit. You can also configure the following options as required:
Enable WORM
On demand only
- Select Next.
- On the Media server page, select the media server options.
- Select Next.
- On the Review page, verify that all configuration details are correct, and then select Save.
