Running NetBackup commands using the nbcmdrun wrapper command

nbcmdrun is a wrapper command that is used to run other NetBackup commands on a NetBackup host. The NetBackup host can be a primary server, a media server, or a client.

Certain NetBackup commands can be run only by the Operating System (OS) Administrator if run without the nbcmdrun wrapper. However with the nbcmdrun wrapper, a non-privileged OS user with the required RBAC permissions can also run these commands.

For consistency in the use of NetBackup commands, it is recommended that you run all commands using the nbcmdrun wrapper command.
