Specifying a logon account for the Enterprise Vault server
To perform backups and restores, NetBackup must know the user name and password for the account that is used to log on to the Enterprise Vault server and to interact with the Enterprise Vault SQL database. The user must set the logon account for every NetBackup client that runs backup and restore operations for Enterprise Vault components.
The Enterprise Vault agent user should have the following user-credential privileges:
The ability to back up and restore SQL databases
The ability to communicate with the Enterprise Vault services and to put Enterprise Vault into backup mode
Permissions to read and write from the Enterprise Vault file system paths such as the Enterprise Vault partitions, and index locations. The file paths can be on the UNC or the local drive

You must perform the following procedure for all of the Enterprise Vault servers and the SQL servers in an Enterprise Vault site configuration.
To specify the logon account for the Enterprise Vault server
- Open the NetBackup Administration Console.
- Expand NetBackup Management > Host Properties > Clients.
- If the client does not appear in the client list, click the Configure client icon.
Enter a client name in the Choose Client dialog box and click OK.
- In the right pane, right-click on the client and click Properties.
- In the left pane, expand Windows Client and click Enterprise Vault. The Client Properties dialog box is displayed.
- In the User name box, specify the user ID for the account that is used to log on to Enterprise Vault (DOMAIN\user name).
- In the Password box, specify the password for the account.
- Click OK to save your changes.
