NetBackup™ Status Codes Reference Guide

NetBackup status code: 8904

Message: The host database operations are blocked when disaster recovery is in progress.

Explanation: The state of the NetBackup database changes during disaster recovery. Therefore, any updates to this database are blocked and then retried after the catalog recovery is complete and the NetBackup services are restarted. The catalog recovery APIs automatically set the environment variable NB_DR_IN_PROGRESS to 1 before disaster recovery starts. The variable is reset to 0 after the process is complete. In some cases, however, this variable is not successfully reset and updates to host database are blocked after disaster recovery completes.

Recommended Action: Manually reset the environment variable NB_DR_IN_PROGRESS to 0.
