Recovering the MSDP object store data from the backup images
You can recover the backup data from MSDP-Object-Store backup images and write to a NetBackup client's file system.
Limitations about the MSDP object store recovery:
Supports recovering the MSDP object store backup data to a NetBackup client's file system only, and the NetBackup client's operating system must be Linux.
To be more secure, the recovered objects' permission is 600 in the file system, which needs administrator privilege to access them.
To recover the MSDP-Object-Store backup data
- On the left, click Recovery in the NetBackup web UI.
- Under Regular recovery, click Start recovery.
- On the Basic properties page, select MSDP-Object-Store from the policy type list.
- Click Select client to select the source client.
- Type the destination client host name. The destination client must be a valid NetBackup client. The automatically generated client name for MSDP-Object-Store policy cannot be used as the destination client.
Click Next.
- On the Recovery details page, select backup images and objects to be recovered. Click Next.
- On the Recovery options page, select the Destination of the recovery. This is a file system path of the destination client. Click Next.
- On the Review page, review the details and click Start recovery.
After the restore job is finished, the recovered objects are in the destination file system path of the destination NetBackup client.
