Workflow to configure cloud KMS in NetBackup

Step 1

Create a cloud key in the required cloud service provider.

Review the respective cloud service provider documentation.

Step 2

Create credentials in the cloud with permissions to access the created key.

Step 3

Add the cloud KMS credentials using NetBackup web UI.

See Add a credential for cloud KMS.

Step 4

(Optional step) Add proxy server credentials using NetBackup web UI > Credential Management System.

Step 5

Configure a cloud KMS server in NetBackup using the credentials that you have added.

Step 6

Create a key in NetBackup that maps to the cloud key.

See Configuring a key in NetBackup to use the cloud KMS .

Step 7

Configure an MSDP storage server to use the NetBackup key that you have created.
