Automated scan host configuration

Scan host can be configured automatically using one of the following options:

For Agentless host:

  • PowerShell: PowerShell scripts can be used to configure Windows scan host.

  • Shell: Shell scripts can be used to configure Linux scan host by copying the required script to scan host.

  • Ansible: Ansible playbook can be used to configure one or more Linux and Windows scan hosts remotely.

Note:

The above automated configuration scripts currently only support installation of NetBackup Malware Scanner (Avira).

For NetBackup client as the scan host

  • Configure NetBackup client as the scan host.

See Configuring NetBackup client as the scan host.

  • If the status of the scanner host is activated, then the existing system with the NetBackup client can be used as scan host.

  • Verify the status of the scanner host as follows:

    • On the left, click Detection and reporting > Malware detection.

    • On the Malware detection page, select Malware detection settings > Manage malware scanner host pools on the top-right corner to go to host pool list page.

    • Select the desired scan host. Then click Actions > Manage hosts.

The status of the scanner hosts is displayed.

    • To change the status of the scanner host, select the desired scanner host and click Actions > Activate/Deactivate.
