NetBackup™ Security and Encryption Guide

Disabling insecure communication

NetBackup communicates with 8.0 and earlier hosts in an insecure manner. For increased security, you should upgrade all hosts to the current version and disable NetBackup communication with 8.0 and earlier hosts.

See About secure communication settings.

To disable insecure communication

  1. On the right pane, select Setting > Global security.
  2. In the Global security settings page, select Secure Communication tab
  3. Turn off the Enable insecure communication with 8.0 and earlier hosts option.
  4. Click Save.

    Note:

If you disable insecure communications, it is recommended that you restart services to ensure that the insecure connections that are already established are terminated.
