Add a policy for KVM
This topic describes how to create a NetBackup policy to back up the KVM virtual machines on one or more KVM hosts.
To add a policy for KVM
- Open the NetBackup web UI.
- On the left, select Protection > Policies. Then select Add.
- Type a unique name for the new policy.
- From the Policy type list, select KVM.
- Complete the entries on the Attributes tab.
Add other policy information as follows:
Add schedules.
Add the KVM hosts.
Create a query that dynamically selects the virtual machines.

Select the KVM attributes tab to set KVM-related options.
- When you have completed the policy configuration, select Create.
