About policy attributes

With a few exceptions, policy attributes for a MS-SQL-Server policy are managed in the same way as for most other policy types. Certain policy attributes vary according to your specific backup strategy and system configuration.

Attribute

Description

Policy type

Determines the types of clients that can be backed up with the policy. For SQL Server databases, select the policy type MS-SQL-Server.

Limit jobs per policy

Sets the maximum number of instances that NetBackup can back up concurrently with this policy.

Compress

Enables the compression of backups by NetBackup. If you enable NetBackup compression, do not enable SQL Server compression.
