Creating policies for cloud assets

You can add cloud policies for different types of workloads. Before you create a policy, ensure that you have a Storage lifecycle policy (SLP) created for that policy to view the job operation hierarchy. See Adding an SLP.

To create a policy:

On the left, click Protection > Policies.
Click Add to create a new policy.

Configure the settings for the policy.

Schedules	See Creating schedules. See About backup frequency. See About assigning retention periods. See Configuring the Start window. See Configuring the include dates. See Configuring the exclude dates.
Cloud assets	See Configuring the cloud assets for IaaS. See Configuring the cloud assets for PaaS.
Backup options Note: This tab appears only for IaaS cloud policy type.	See Configuring backup options for IaaS.

After you are finished configuring the policy, click Create.
