NetBackup™ Status Codes Reference Guide

NetBackup status code: 268

Message: the vault session directory is either missing or inaccessible

Explanation: This error occurs when a Vault job cannot access the following:

UNIX and Linux: /usr/openv/netbackup/vault/sessions

Windows: install_path\NetBackup\vault\sessions

This directory is created when Vault is installed.

Recommended Action: Make sure that you are running on the master server where Vault is installed and configured. Also ensure that no one accidentally removed the sessions directory or changed permission on the directory path so it is inaccessible to the Vault job.
