NetBackup™ Status Codes Reference Guide

NetBackup status code: 8604

Message: Unable to validate the certificate for host.

Explanation: Unable to validate the certificate for the RHV server.

Recommended Action: Do the following, as appropriate:

For RHV:

  • When the VIRTUALIZATION_HOSTS_SECURE_CONNECT_ENABLED option is enabled, you must verify the placement of the certificates and CRLs. Verify whether the RHV virtualization server's certificates and CRLs are added to the respective ECA configured trust store and the CRL path.

  • Ensure that the certificates and the CRL files are in the correct format and the trust store file and the CRL files are not corrupted.

  • Only the PEM certificate format for a file-based trust store and Windows trust store is supported for virtualization servers. P7b or DER format file-based trust store is not supported. When this feature is enabled, the certificate ECA store should either be Windows certificate store or file-based PEM format store.

For Sheltered Harbor solution:

  • Verify that the correct CA certificate file is provided in the Sheltered Harbor solution configuration. You can verify the configuration of the Sheltered Harbor solution using the following command:

    On UNIX:

    /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/nbshvault --show-config

    On Windows:

    install_path\NetBackup\bin\nbshvault --show-config
