NetBackup™ for Hyper-V Administrator's Guide

Overview

Malware scanning occurs after backups on specified systems (scan hosts), where the customer must pre-deploy the malware scanner software. The scan host may be either a Linux or Windows system. The NetBackup storage server, which holds the backup data, is accessible to the scan host as a read-only NFS/SMB share.

NetBackup employs snapshot technology to guarantee data availability and generates Windows snapshots utilizing VSS and WMI. Hyper-V images can be examined through the Backup images search option on the Malware detection page.
