NetBackup requirements for Hyper-V Intelligent Policy
Note the following requirements for automatic selection of Hyper-V virtual machines:
The system where NetBackup runs must have access to the Hyper-V server.
For the policies that back up VMs that reside in a Hyper-V cluster: The NetBackup primary server should not be installed on any Hyper-V nodes of the cluster. If the primary server resides on one of the nodes, you cannot log on to NetBackup web UI.
If the policy's option is set to , certain special characters are not supported in the name.
The following characters are supported: ASCII letters a through z (uppercase and lowercase), numbers 0 through 9, hyphen (-), period (.), underscore (_), plus sign (+), left and right parentheses (), spaces.
If the display name contains unsupported characters, set the Primary VM identifier to VM GUID, or to VM hostname if a host name is available.
