NetBackup™ Status Codes Reference Guide

NetBackup status code: 9134

Message: Failed to retrieve the passphrase.

Explanation: The passphrase that is required to decrypt the private key cannot be read. The passphrase file is either missing, inaccessible, altered, or corrupted.

Recommended Action: Perform the following as appropriate:

  • Verify that the passphrase file exists at the keystore location and has the correct permissions. If the file is present but lacks the proper permissions, adjust the permissions manually and retry the operation.

  • If the issue persists, remove all files from the keystore directory, including any hidden files. Depending on your configuration, the keystore directory is install_dir/var/vxss/credentials/keystore, install_dir/var/global/vxss/credentials/keystore, install_path\NetBackup\var\vxss\credentials\keystore, or install_path\NetBackup\var\global\vxss\credentials\keystore directory.

    • Perform nbcertcmd -getCertificate with reissueToken option for all servers with which the host is registered and retry the operation.

    • If the issue persists, collect the nbcert, nbpxyhelper, and nbwebservice logs and contact Veritas Technical Support.
