NetBackup™ Status Codes Reference Guide

NetBackup status code: 8842

Message: Failed to save the proxy server details.

Explanation: This error is displayed when you try to create and or update the proxy-server details by using the following API: https://{NetbackupUrl}/netbackup/config/proxy-servers

When you see this error, you won't be able to save any data.

Recommended Action: Perform the following steps:

  1. Call the POST API (https://{NetbackupUrl}/netbackup/config/proxy-servers) to create the proxy server.
  2. Create the API with proper syntax to validate the request but use some invalid data which shows an error during run time.
  3. Verify that the error is shown in the API response.
