NetBackup™ Status Codes Reference Guide

NetBackup status code: 5983

Message: The host certificate is revoked.

Explanation: The host certificate is present in the certificate revocation list (CRL) and is revoked.

Recommended Action: Do the following, as appropriate:

  • On the host where the error occurred, examine the legacy logs on the NetBackup server for nbcertcmd.

  • On all of the hosts involved in the communication, examine the unified logs for nbpxyhelper (OID 486).

  • If the certificate was revoked in error, reissue a certificate for the host.

  • If the certificate was revoked as intended, an attempted security breach may have occurred.

  • Contact your Security Administrator.
