About disk recovery procedures for UNIX and Linux
The three different types of disk recovery for UNIX and Linux are as follows:
Primary server disk recovery procedures
See About recovering the primary server disk for UNIX and Linux.
Media server disk recovery procedures
See About recovering the NetBackup media server disk for UNIX.
Client disk recovery procedures
See Recovering the system disk on a UNIX client workstation.
The disk-based images that reside on AdvancedDisk or on OpenStorage disks cannot be recovered by means of the NetBackup catalog. These disk images must be recovered with the NetBackup import feature.
See the topic on importing NetBackup images in the NetBackup Administrator's Guide, Volume I:

When the disk image is imported, NetBackup does not recover the original catalog entry for the image. Instead, a new catalog entry is created.
