Note the following prerequisites:

• NetBackup Enterprise server 10.1 or later must be installed on the primary and the media servers. For performing backups of the primary client, the primary or the media server can be running any supported UNIX, Linux or Windows platform.

• From NetBackup version 9.1 onwards, the media server should be running the same NetBackup version as that of the primary server for it to communicate with the Snapshot Manager server

• You must have a license for Snapshot Manager.

• NetBackup 10.1 or later client software must be installed on clients.

  For AIX and Linux clients, the client data must be in a VxFS file system.

• For Instant Recovery using the VxFS_Checkpoint method, the VxFS file system with the Storage Checkpoints feature must be installed on clients.
