Configure General settings
The first step in adding a connector is to configure the general settings. If the required Stor or Connector service is unavailable, contact Cohesity Support.
To configure the general settings
- In the Connector name field, enter a name for the connector.
- The Type field displays the connector type.
- In the Stor dropdown list, select the designated storage location for backed-up data.
- The Machine field displays the Connector service that will host the connector. If necessary, select a different service from the list. Contact Cohesity Support to make this change.
Note:
When the Pre-ingest encryption key is applied to the connector, the Full-text search feature, which affects Discovery and End-User search functionality, is disabled. You cannot preview or download items from the Administration and End-User portal. For more information, refer to the following tech note: About the Encryption Key
- (Optional) Select Enable email notification to receive alerts when the predefined error threshold is exceeded during backup. Enabling this option adds the Email notification tab to the connector setup.
- Click Nextto configure capture scope.
Note:
If your tenant is configured using the scope feature, the dropdown list is displayed when you add a connector. You need to select the required scope from the dropdown list. For more information, contact Cohesity Support.
