To configure Veritas Data Deduplication

1. Log on to the Access Appliance application.

   • The Getting Started page is displayed when you login for the first time.

     Click Veritas Data Deduplication.

   • Or, navigate to Quick Actions > Provision Storage > Storage for NetBackup > Veritas Data Deduplication.

   • Or, navigate to Settings > Veritas Data Deduplication Management.

2. A default storage pool is created at the time of initial configuration with all the available disks.
   
3. Under the Activate Policy tab, select the Veritas Data Deduplication policy.
   
4. Complete all the prerequisites such as, selecting the storage pool to activate the Veritas Data Deduplication policy and click Activate policy.
   

   After the policy is activated, click Finish.

5. Under the Provision storage tab, specify all the required fields.

   Select storage policy	From the dropdown menu, choose Veritas Data Deduplication policy.
   Storage size	Mention the capacity for Veritas Data Deduplication storage (size should be less than 1.2 PiB)
   Select storage pool	Specify the name of the storage pool.
   Username	Specify the username to be used
   Password/Confirm Password:	Enter the password for the above username
   VIP (Virtual IP address)	Specify a free virtual IP from the cluster (this IP should not be used by any protocol on the cluster) You can check if an IP is used by CIFS using the cifs share show <sharename> command. Run the network ip addr show command from the Access command-line interface to find an available virtual IP address. Or navigate to Infrastructure > Nodes in the GUI, and click on the node name to see the virtual IP address. If a virtual IP is not available to configure the Veritas Data Deduplication server, you should add at least one virtual IP to the cluster using the Access command-line interface.

   

   Click Provision storage.

   View the Recent Activity panel for the status of the task.

   The storage provisioning is now complete.
