Adding disks to a storage pool
Storage pools are used to classify storage using user-defined criteria. The best practice is to group disks with similar characteristics into a storage pool. A single storage pool can contain both SSD and HDD storage.
To add disks to storage pool
- Prerequisites:
Disks must be initialized and discovered by the cluster before you can add them to a storage pool.
- To add the selected disks to an existing pool or specify a new storage pool, select the disks and click Add to storage pool.
If a disk already belongs to a pool, you cannot add it to a new pool.
If you select an existing pool, the Storage Pool Capacity shows the existing capacity for the selected pool.
- View the Recent Activity panel for the status of the task to create the storage pool.
