Express Registration for Azure Source

To start protecting your Microsoft Azure services, check the Azure requirements and then register Azure as a data source in Cohesity DataProtect as a Service.

  1. In DataProtect as a Service, navigate to Sources > + Register Source, and select Azure.

  2. Click Start Registration. The Register Azure Source form is displayed.

  3. In the Domain Name field, enter the unique tenant ID assigned by Azure, and then select the Destination cloud region. For information on getting the tenant ID, see Get tenant ID.

  4. Select the Azure services you want to register: Azure VM, Azure SQL, and Entra ID.

  5. Click Continue.

  6. In the Azure App section, click Create Azure Application Via Microsoft.
You can also Create Azure Application Manually but be advised this can take much longer.

  7. Select the user to authenticate. Cohesity requests user consent to authenticate Microsoft Azure, creates Azure App, and discovers the related Azure subscriptions.

For first time registration, click Accept when Cohesity requests the necessary permissions to complete authentication.

  8. Click Continue. The subscriptions fetched will be displayed.

  9. Select the required subscription and click Register.

Next > Once you register the Azure source, you must set up a SaaS Connection (not applicable for Entra ID)for each region under each Azure subscription in your Azure source.
