Microsoft 365

Microsoft 365 is a subscription service that bundles the traditional office productivity applications and delivers them as SaaS applications. Microsoft 365 includes Exchange Online, OneDrive for Business, SharePoint Online, Teams, and other applications. Cohesity Cloud Protection Service provides simple, fast, and cost-effective data protection solution for the following Microsoft 365 applications:

• Exchange Online Mailboxes

• OneDrive for Business

• SharePoint Online

• Microsoft Teams

• Microsoft Groups

Protecting any of the above applications involves a few key steps: registering Microsoft 365 as a source with Cohesity, performing backups, and restoring data to the original location or to an alternate destination as needed. Using Microsoft Graph APIs

By June 2026, Cloud Protection Service will migrate from Exchange Web Services (EWS) APIs to Microsoft Graph APIs to protect Microsoft 365 Applications. This is as per the Retirement of Exchange Web Services in Exchange Online announcement from Microsoft. For more information, see Deprecation of Exchange Web Services in Exchange Online.
