Register Google Workspace
To protect user data in Google Workspace services such as Google Drive and Gmail, you must register your Google Workspace environment as a source in Cloud Protection Service. Registration is a one time setup that establishes secure access to supported Google Workspace applications under the selected domain.
During registration, you meed to specify which Google Workspace applications to protect.
Before registering Google Workspace as a source, ensure that you have completed the following tasks:

To register your Google Workspace source:
- In Cloud Protection Service, navigate to Sources and click Register Source in the upper right corner of the page.
- On the Select Source page, click Google Workspace.
- Click Start Registration.

On the Register Google Source page, complete the following steps:
- From the drop down menu, select the Google Cloud region where your Google Workspace is hosted.

Select the applications that you want to protect, such as Gmail, Google Drive, or both.
You can modify this selection later, even after registration is complete.
- Enter the email address of a Google Workspace administrator account and upload the credentials JSON file.
- Click Register.
After registration is complete, the registered Google Workspace source appears on the Sources page. Cloud Protection Service automatically discovers objects in the Google Workspace environment based on the applications selected during registration.
Once discovery is complete, the discovered objects are displayed on the Sources page, where you can configure protection policies and perform backup and restore operations.
